Application on Bearing
PPEK can be used as materials for bearing, which offers very high compression strength as well as outstanding surface sliding, abrasion resistance, so it can bear high load. Plastic bearing made of PPEK composite combines excellent self-lubricity, and chemical resistance properties. It also offers superior heat-resistance performance, allowing 300¡æ service temperature.
Example:
Bearing bush for medicaments intermediate production equipment. Operation temperature of bearing bushes of this reaction caldron is from 250 ¡æ to 300 ¡æ, load is 2.5MPa, rotate speed is 1440 r/min. Graphite bearing bush chosen previously can't offer abrasion resistance property and easy to fall dregs. On the other hand, bearing bush made of PTFE can't achieve such high operation temperature. However bearing bush made of PPEK composite can achieve the special demands.
Rolling bearing and composite bearing used for ultra high molecular weight Polyethylene production. Metal rolling bearing can't resist corrosion. While polyethylene of ultra high molecular weight can't bear high temperature, heat produced by moving conveyer belt cause bearing to bite and lose efficacy.To solve such problems, Bearing made of PPEK composite will be good choice.
